The Rising Scholars Workshop at Peace Science Society (International) provides positive, effective mentoring for junior scholars doing exceptional research on political violence. We create a supportive but challenging environment by combining intensive feedback on active research projects with two-way conversations between mentees and senior mentors about advising, professional development, and more.

The workshop maintains and strengthens the scholarly norms valued in the peace science community: a willingness to engage other scholars' work and provide honest and constructive criticism, a serious commitment to the process of scientific inquiry, and a recognition of the value of inclusivity, broadly defined.
